Unwrapping new work!

Just got some work back from my framer ready to be delivered to Bon Papillion next week. My show with the talented Astrid Trugg opens on the 8th September.

It's open studios time again! Busy sorting out my studio, some new work on show but also some 'end of series' paintings that will be reduced....hope you can pop down and see us!

A little crafty time

After a busy few months of organising a wedding then actually getting married , I am slowly getting back into my creativeness. While I have been quiet on the blog front, some work has been done in the studio. These new paintings were for Frames gallery in Perth who were exhibiting at the Lindon Affordable Art Fair and also the Bristol AAF.
I am now getting ready for the Coburg Open Studios the 3rd, 4th & 5th Aug. today though I had some time at home with my sewing machine and made some cushion covers from some gorgeous Japanese fabric I bought a few years ago!!

Oooops!

I have NO idea how it is mid March already! Have been doing a little bit of work in the studio, primarily for the Affordable Art Fair in London this weekend where I am showing with Frames Gallery. The new works are large landscapes and I feel really happy with how they almost created themselves (work had been quite a struggle, sometimes wish I chose a career that wasn't so affected by my emotions). I basically cleaned my brushes after finishing them, left them for my trusty framer Davy to pick up, and jumped on a plane to Australia for 3 1/2 weeks....bliss!

Now I am back, refreshed, ready to get back to the easel and hopefully not get too distracted by wedding plans!!

COBURG STUDIOS OPEN WEEKEND

 

Our studio Christmas Open weekend has come around again! Everyone is busy busy getting things finished and stock made in preparation...plus the clean up. I have no idea how my studio gets so dirty and cluttered in such a short time!! I have been getting a few new pieces finished off for the show and hoping they will be dry in time...I'll be in all weekend ( working on my birthday too!)

Oh busy time.....just had a weekend in London. After a faff getting there (who knew there was so much fog in London) had a lovely time with family. One of my highlights was going to the Tate Modern for the Gerhard Richter exhibition. Brilliant to see a lifetimes worth of work and progress of one of my fav artists together in one place. His most recent work is immense.....also went to a fab print show of various artists that all work out of the same studio.
Getting ready for the Coburg Open Studios in a couple of weeks (3-4th December 11-5 pm)...frantic to get a few new paintings finished so I can show them, nearly there so hopefully a full day tomorrow will do the job!
